What this page is
Model terms shipped with a website template. Replace them before the site goes live. Nothing here has been drafted for a particular practice and nothing here is legal advice.
Using this site
The content on this site is general information. Reading it does not create a solicitor and client relationship, and no retainer exists until we have sent you an engagement letter and you have accepted it.
The fee estimator
The estimator applies published statutory rates to figures you enter. Rates change, and the figures you enter may not describe your matter accurately. It produces an estimate for orientation, not a quotation, and it is not a fee agreement.
This demonstration
Chancery is a fictional firm. Its people, its regulatory details, its matters and its own fees are invented. Only the statutory scales in the estimator are real, and they are cited on the fees page.
Liability
A real firm limits liability by agreement and carries professional indemnity insurance to at least the minimum its regulator requires. Those figures belong in your own terms.
Governing law
These terms would be governed by the law of England and Wales.
